Masahiko Kimura is a key person in the firm’s international patent practice, serving as the primary contact for foreign clients and overseas patent firms.
He has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in Japan for international clients, as well as managing foreign filings and patent prosecution for Japanese clients in the United States, Europe, China, Korea, and other jurisdictions.
His areas of expertise include industrial engineering, automotive technology, battery technology, and medical devices.
In addition to patent prosecution, he also provides precise Japanese–English and English–Japanese patent translations, ensuring technical and linguistic consistency across jurisdictions.
He actively communicates with patent attorneys and agents around the world, participating in international conferences and managing the selection and coordination of overseas law firms.
In 2025, he was ranked Silver – Individuals: Prosecution (Patent) by IAM Patent 1000, recognizing his excellence in patent prosecution and client service.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, he is a devoted father of two boys and enjoys spending his free time supporting his sons’ soccer activities.
